Student life Scholarship | Official clubs Scholarship The amount of scholarship endowment is an important criterion in choosing a university. Of the more than 200 kinds of scholarships at Waseda University, approximately seventy percent are "grant scholarships" which do not require repayment. This abundance far exceeds comparison with any other private university. Presently, more than seventy percent of the students who apply are receiving scholarships. And one student may receive as many as four different scholarships. (See graph.) Waseda University's Department of Science and Engineering gives encouragement to the self-reliant.
